On the morning of August 6th 1945 the first atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, the bombs nickname was Little Boy. A few days later on August 9th the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, named Fat Man. The first bombing leveled over 60% of the city and over 70,000 citizens died instantly. The second bomb killed over 20,000 citizens. In the weeks following this tragedy thousands more Japanese citizens died due to the lasting affects of the bombings. Affects included radiation exposure which led to cancer and death. The US hadn't even warned the Japanese people about these bombings. This day will live in infamy for the Japanese people.
